In 1997, Boys & Girls Clubs of America
formed the Native American National Advisory Committee (NANAC)
to guide Boys & Girls Clubs in Indian Country.
NANAC's responsibilities include:
Providing
direction on training for Club staff Generating
information and the direction on Indian
Country program needs Offering
input on strategic issues Supporting
the identification of resources for
further services to Native Americans Utilizing
talents of committee members for training,
resource identification, advocacy and technical
assistance.
NANAC members serve for a
term of two - three years and consist of Native American corporate,
non-profit, governmental leaders as well as Boys & Girls
Club professionals. They are volunteers. They meet twice a year
and spend time in between networking, fundraising, creating
partnerships, spreading the word and developing useful resources
for Native American Clubs such as this website!
