President’s Environmental Youth Award - Applications Now Open!

The President’s Environmental Youth Award (PEYA) recognizes exceptional environmental projects created by youth grades K-12, and simultaneously raises awareness on our nation's natural resources and encourages community involvement.

Each year, the PEYA honors a variety of projects developed by youth, school classes (kindergarten through high school), summer camps, public interest groups, and youth organizations to promote environmental awareness. Winning projects in the past have covered subject areas including, but not limited to;

  • restoring native habitats
  • recycling in schools and communities
  • construction of nature preserves
  • tree planting
  • installing renewable energy projects
  • creating videos, skits and newsletters that focused on environmental issues
  • participating in many other creative sustainability efforts

Consider having your organization apply and/or encourage a Club member you know to apply for PEYA and see what a difference they can make for the environment! Applicants from all 50 states and U.S. territories are eligible to compete for a regional certificate of special recognition and a national Presidential award. Applications are due by March 1, 2018.
