February is National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

Event Details

February 1-28, 2018

Event Description

During the month of February, Club professionals have a special opportunity to create awareness around teen dating violence and abuse. Nearly 1.5 million high school students nationwide have experienced physical abuse from a dating relationship in a single year and teens are shown to experience the highest rate of dating violence, almost tripling the national average. This can be a tough topic to initiate and discuss among teens, so BGCA has provided a resource to help get this critically important conversation started at your Club.

The resource includes useful information on teen dating violence prevention, statistical information, important supports available for youth and staff, and telephone hotlines youth can use if they or someone they know is experiencing dating violence and abuse. In order to keep your youth informed on prevention and awareness, utilize the resources provided to help start these vital conversations.

Access the helpful resource guide here and be part of the solution to teen dating violence today!
