USDA Webinar Series Offers Farm to School Strategies for Native Communities

Event Description

If you are seeking ways to incorporate healthy eating and Native foods into your Club programs, you can learn from this free Farm to School webinar series. “Farm to Table” or “Farm to School” is the quick way to describe food’s journey from where it is grown to where it is eaten. In April and May, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Office of Community Food Systems hosted a four-part webinar series focused on strategies to integrate Farm to School models into Native communities. Each webinar features a different guest speaker who shares best practices for ways to bring Native youth closer to their local food traditions and to build sustainable partnerships for nutrition programs. These are a great resource for anyone looking to promote healthy eating and Native culture and for programs like On the T.R.A.I.L. to Diabetes Prevention.
