Department of Agriculture: Child and Adult Care Food Program

The U.S. Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) can support your Club by providing healthy meals and snacks for Club members. To be reimbursed for healthy meals and snacks served to youth in your Club, you can partner with a state agency (see a list of eligible agencies by state here) or you can file your own application as an Afterschool Program. Clubs who partner with state agencies will be reimbursed, per meal, through the agency. To qualify 50% or more of the youth at your Club must be eligible for free or reduced priced school meals. Visit the CACFP Web page for more information and instructions on how to apply, or go directly to the handbook for At-Risk Afterschool Meals to learn more about the eligibility requirements and the reimbursement process for programs in low-income areas.
