Best-Practice for Utilizing NAHASDA Funding

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Dine Nation partnered with their housing authority and is now able to build three new Boys & Girls Clubs on their reservation with the $19.5 million they received in NAHASDA funds.

BGCA Alumni Hall of Fame

Ernest Stevens Jr.
For Ernest Stevens Jr., the Boys & Girls Club allowed him to be a teen and to find much-needed mentorship. "It gave me the chance to live again," said the Native American advocate and chairman of the National Indian Gaming Association. "You have saved lives, you have made lives. And you have made America and Indian Country a better place." Mr. Stevens is an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin.

Jacqueline Johnson Pata
BGCA presented Jacqueline Johnson Pata, Executive Director of the National Congress of American Indians with the Jeremiah Milbank Gold Medallion Award for her outstanding and extraordinary service. Mrs. Pata is a member of the Raven/Sockeye Clan of the Tlingit Tribe and a member of the Central Council of the Tlingit-Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska.
